Universal Studios is a theme park located within Resorts World Sentosa on Sentosa Island and is a must see place in Singapore. Allocate one complete day to US if possible. It is the second Universal Studios theme park to open in Asia (Japan being the first), and the first in Southeast Asia.
The park consists of seven themed zones which surround a lagoon. Each zone is based on a blockbuster movie or a television show, featuring their own unique attractions, character appearances, dining and shopping areas. The park features the world’s tallest pair of dueling roller coasters that are based on the popular television series, Battlestar Galactica; A castle from the world of Shrek and Monster Rock, a live musical show featuring the Universal Monsters. Universal Studios Singapore has over 30 restaurants and food carts, together with 20 unique retail stores and carts located around the park.
Practically it is tough to complete all rides in one day. We reached at 10:15AM and did most of the rides we knew were good. Most of the rides have a waiting period of 15 -120 minutes. Waiting time is displayed at the entrance of each ride.
There are three type of queues for almost all rides.
1) Express Pass – Privileged pass (Entry Ticket + 50$)
2) Single Rider – If you are single person, you can cut the queue. Downside is you will not be seated with your family/Friends.
3) General queue – maximum waiting time
When the waiting time was more than 60 minutes we used to get in “Single Rider” queue to make most of our time.
If you are vegetarian (like me), there is an option to eat vegetarian Pizza. Indian food is not available in Universal Studios.
If you are planning to go to USS try to reach as early as possible to avoid rush and I would recommend these rides to be done first. In order of preference. (First three are my favorite)
Battlestar Galactica – maximum waiting time; you are not allowed to take anything in this ride so make sure you put all items (phone, wallet, coins, camera etc) in locker
Transformers (3D – roller coaster) – maximum waiting time
Revenge of Mummy (Roller coaster) – maximum waiting time
Canopy Flyer (Suspended 4 seat roller coaster)
Lights Camera Action (Special effects mimics Hurricane in New York)
Jurassic Park rapids
Enchanted airways (Roller coaster)
