Applying for a Japan Visa is very simple. After my entire process of applying and getting a tourist, I can only say so. No agents were involved, no-nonsense entertained. I personally do not appreciate paying commission to agents to fill the form and do the needful. I prefer doing entire paperwork myself. But to avoid any problems it is best to read through the entire set of requirements before applying. In this blog post, I will try to answer few basic question and process involved.

How to apply for Japan Visa in Singapore?
Once you have figured all above documents, you need to visit Embassy of Japan located near Orchard towers to submit them. Embassy is about 20 minutes walk from Orchard MRT. I went to embassy around 11AM to submit my documents. I had to wait for 20 minutes for submitting my form. There are two counters accepting the form. It is best to draw a token from automated counter as soon as you reach the embassy to save some time. Worth noting that application can be submitted only before lunch (12PM) Post lunch time is reserved for collections only.

How long does application processing take?
Normally, a visa can be issued in 5 working days if all the requirements are met. There are, however, cases where referral to the government office in Japan is necessary. Such referral cases may take up to 2 months for results. Therefore, it is recommended that you plan your trip early to avoid the inconvenience of delay. Urgent or express visa is not available.
