Islands of Singapore : Pulau Ubin

Pulau Ubin is an island off eastern Singapore and often considered the last ‘kampung’ (village) in Singapore. A stroll through Ubin takes you back to Singapore in the 1960’s with the simpler pleasures of life.

You can catch a bumboat from Changi ferry terminal in Changi village to Pulau Ubin Island for 2.5S$. Each bumboat will carry 12 passengers and bumboat leaves when 12 passengers are reached. Travels time is less than 30 mins. You can hire a bicycle for complete day for 6-12SGD depending on the make of cycle and protective gears(charges extra). Cycling around over grown rubber plantation, mighty tree, coconut palms, mangroves on rustic roads and lotus ponds is a nice experience.
Admission to the island is free. There are no opening or closing hours, but regular services only run during daylight hours. Camping is allowed on this island.

Chek Jawa

is the major highlight of Island. The beauty of Chek Jawa is characterized by Coastal hill forest, Mangroves, Corals, rocky lagoons and a viewing tower. One has to walk through dense forest on kilometer long wooden platform to observe nature at its best.
