i Light Marina Bay 2016

Singapore is a small country. Ample small events throughout the year keeps people entertained and busy. Most of the events are family friendly and kids oriented. Food, Games and Live music keeps everyone amused. So if you have nothing better to do on weekends, drop by to many of these free events to a fun filled family outing

Since its first edition in 2010, the biennial i Light festival has seen increasing participation and visitor-ship. I first saw iLight when it was in its the third edition, held in 2014. Event attracted a record 685,000 visitors. In response to popular demand, the festival will be held annually from 2016. iLight returns this year in its fourth edition. This year iLight is being held from 4th March to 27th March.

i Light Marina Bay is Asia’s leading sustainable light art festival. Theme for this year is ‘In Praise of Shadows’. The 2016 edition features 25 innovative and environmentally sustainable light art installations by creative talents from around the world. Most of the art installations are driven by human interaction. Marina bay area has turned into a sea of colorful lights and shadows. each installation is very thoughtful and appealing. Visit official website for more details.

I visited ilIght on Friday (11th March) evening and visited a few installations. Since my office is near Marina bay, I have liberty of visiting the bay area again any day. Also I was not carrying my tripod so I was not able to try any longer exposures.

Let pictures do the talking now.

Gaming is fun equally for kids and adults. The games are however a bit tough for kids. Evens adults were having a hard time scoring 😉

Each game costs 5$-6$ and a win can get you these amazing soft toys.
