A day in Jurong Bird Park

I have been to Jurong Bird Park (JBP) twice now. It still doesn’t seize to amaze me. JBP is an easy escape from city life to a land of beautiful birds.

JBP opens at 8AM and closes at 6PM. As it is located far from city area it is advisable to start early. Reaching early gives enough time to explore all area with considerable daylight remaining for the day.

Couple of shows performed by trained birds is a treat to watch. It is hard to believe how these tiny little birds can be trained to communicate with people. There is a fixed time for the shows so try to reach the venues early to get best seats. All shows are interactive so be ready to raise your hand when bird trainers ask for volunteers ๐Ÿ˜‰

My objective of this visit was to click some birds close up using a Sigma 150-600mm Sports lens. Since this lens is darn heavy weighing at close to 2860gm, I was using a monopod all the time. I spent some 4-5 hours in the bird park. Please check some images from the shoot.

Thanks for your feedback Koshy Sir. Your words mean a lot to me. A long way to learn in this field for me…

Lovely bird photos(: … that parrot into the flower ring is a sight… they have so much intelligence is credible and appaudable. I saw a eagle in close up… quite weak it was I guess because of summer heat, they are a sight to watch when they fly… and a long while back I saw a hooting owl flying, was dashed exciting.

Thanks Maria. I have seen you in a long time ๐Ÿ™‚
Eagles are so big and clever. People in deserts of Mongolia use them for hunting. Eagles fly high up and can locate preys easily.
